CAMERAS NIKON F5, NIKON FM2N FILM KODAK EKTAR 100, FUJI PROVIA 100F
My best film camera, a Mamiya 645 Pro, broke the day before my biggest road trip in 2015. A spring snapped, locking the mirror. No time for a replacement or repair. I'd have to use my backup gear, two 35mm Nikons (F5 and FM2n). It turned out to be a blessing. I had more fun using my lighter gear while visiting the wheatlands of eastern Washington. The FM2n is a fully mechanical SLR I purchased on Craigslist for $150. I used a Nikkor 80-200mm manual AI-s lens, one of Nikon's sharpest zoom lens, to get the shot above. Steptoe Butte is in the distance. I found the burgler alarm on a closed bank building in Endicott. The gravel road below is not far from Washtucna.
