The soundtrack of the city is jarring – cursing, honking, loud sirens. Passenger jets scream overhead. I prefer sounds from the high desert. Depending on the season you might catch a cricket or songbird lullaby. Or the soft rustling of wheat as a light breeze drifts across the prairie. The wheat lands in Washington state are my go-to location for rest and recovery. In the Palouse I was treated to a spectacular light show – cloud shadows streaking across the fields in rolling waves. I stood in awe. While I wait for spring and a return trip, here are shots from my archives. The image below is Dry Falls near Coulee City, shot with Fuji film. See how different it looks using Kodak Ektar 100. The other images were shot near the town of Waterville.
