Palouse wheat country in Washington state is linked by a network of dirt, gravel and paved roads. You could spend weeks traveling the backroads and not see everything. I spent three days exploring the area in 2017 and found a few gems. The green barn is located near Washtucna. As I snapped the shutter a large owl shot out of an opening in front of the barn. The red barn is located near Tekoa. The picket-fence flag hangs on an old shed in the town of Benge.
