Farm land on the high desert in north-central Washington is frozen in time. I have no idea how old these farms are but I'll say what's obvious: they are very old. The farmhouse above is located just outside Waterville off U.S. Route 2. In its prime this ranch must have been a gem. I'm surprised it's standing.

It sits in the middle of a working wheat field.

The windmill is east of here off U.S. 2. Some time in the last year or so the blades fell off. A local farmer told me the cabin below was built in the late 1800s.
