The Holga is a poor man's Hasselblad – a cheap, plastic film camera made in China. Even the lens is plastic. The toy camera has gained a cult following because it's different. It produces dreamy images with vignetting, light leaks and other distortions. I used a Holga to shoot the back fender and tail light of the Thunderbird, above. But the Holga isn't my only outlet for fringe photography. The two images with white borders are image transfers I made with Fuji instant film. I peeled the film apart and pressed the negative side onto watercolor paper. This print-making technique involves more steps. See my tutorial here
