The derelict plane is parked among weeds at a rural airfield north of Seattle. Its military colors are peeling from exposure and age. The plane's nickname, Pattons Ace In the Hole, is painted on the nose, reportedly named after Sgt. Herb Patton, a crew member. Ronald Reagan used the DC-3 as a campaign plane when he ran for California governor in 1966. He called it the Turkey Bird because it hauled turkey poults to market. The registration number of Reagan's plane is the same as this DC-3, now retired at Arlington Airport.
